Who we are

Veteran-led, based in the North Carolina Triad

Servicemembers Munitions and Advanced Rifle Therapy. We run small workshops where veterans living with PTSD build precision rifles.

Why we exist

What the name means

Our mission is to empower veterans living with PTSD by providing therapeutic, hands-on programs that promote healing, responsibility, and personal growth through the disciplined construction of precision firearms.

In practice, that means precision firearm building. We chose it for what it asks of you: hours of focus, and a standard that either gets met or doesn't. The skill builds week by week.

Veterans run the programs and veterans fill them. They're free for the people in them, and they aren't a substitute for clinical care.

Introductions are coming

We're writing up the founders and board now, with photographs to follow. If you'd rather not wait, just ask and we'll tell you who you'd be working with.

Transparency

Our status, and where it stands

We've applied to the IRS for 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status, and the application is under review. We don't have the determination letter yet, and we're not going to write as though we do. If it's approved, exempt status is normally backdated to the day we formed, which would make gifts given during the wait deductible after all. That's the IRS's call, not ours.
